SYMPHONY No. 1 “Blue”

On this same concert Saturday night was also a grand performance of my SYMPHONY No. 1 “Blue”
with the Winston-Salem Symphony Chorus, soprano soloist Elizabeth Pacheco Rose, and the Piedmont Wind Symphony conducted by Mark Norman. Considering the 35 minute length, the soprano soloist and choral forces required, this is a large undertaking, and as a result it doesn’t get performed very often. So, this was especially meaningful. Special thanks to conductor Dr. Christopher Gilliam for preparing the chorus and everyone’s commitment to communicating the gravity of the piece. The live recording will be coming soon on YouTube. A perusal score is available open request and a previous recording can be heard at my YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@jamessylercomposer5770
